Pat Kopp, Director of University Public Events, was a moving force behind many outstanding programs including Court Theatre and the Field Trip series introducing young people to the arts. He brought both unique and multicultural performances to the University and extended use of Laxson Auditorium to community groups.

Mr. Kopp received the Mayor’s Award for Achievement in the Arts by the Chico Arts Commission (1997) and was recognized for his outreach efforts. He won the Western Arts Alliance Award (1999) which honors artistic excellence and extraordinary leadership. He raised the level and profile of presenting theatre, dance, and music in the performing arts throughout California. His passion for the arts, artists, and community, ran deep. He was a master at utilizing the California Arts Council touring program to benefit Northern California. His encouragement, leadership, guidance, and entrepreneurial insight reached hundreds of professionals and hundreds of thousands of audience members.

After retirement, Mr. Kopp served as Executive Director of the Paradise Performing Arts Center (PPAC). He brought creativity and professionalism to the Ridge through a host of highly accomplished performances.
