Office of Admissions
Regional And Continuing Education—Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
1974–2012

Linda MacMichael steadfastly contributed to the University in a variety of ways during her 38 years of loyal and dedicated service. She worked in the Office of Admissions in various leadership positions, including Director, and energized the office and staff at a time of reorganization when all student services were under scrutiny. She helped achieve and exceed enrollment targets when student enrollments were seriously declining nationally. MacMichael revitalized the appearance, nature, and content of admissions publications. She oversaw a streamlined program of college nights, school visits, counselor conferences, and University open houses so that the face and voice of Chico State was professional and present throughout the State.

MacMichael provided leadership/mentoring to Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at a critical time to increase the class offerings needed to qualify for important program sustaining grants. She later helped create “Serving the North State”, a website for Chico State, to highlight the many University programs offered to community residents in its 12-county service area.

MacMichael serves or has served on the following community boards providing an important link between the University and community: League of Women Voters (former President and current member); Enloe Medical Center Institutional Review Board; Chico State Interdisciplinary Center on Aging; and the Blue Room Theatre.
