The goals of the Environmental Science degree are assessed based on the learning outcomes.

Direct Assessment and Analysis:

One goal will be assessed each year; additional goals may be assessed as well if the faculty wishes to analyze shorter-term trends. Assessment will be composed of stand-alone tools distributed to key classes, defined on the SLO-course alignment matrix. The data will be analyzed and trends reported in paragraph form. The total of data and analysis will be composed into an annual report.

Discussion of Results

Each fall, at the annual fall retreat, the results will be distributed to all faculty and the Chair will facilitate a discussion on best practices and where the program can be improved. The faculty response will be archived in the “Assessment” folder on the Department’s cloud drive and will also be distributed to the Advisory Board.
