Loan Dispute Intervention

If you have a dispute regarding your federal student loan that you have been unable to resolve with your school or loan servicer, you may request assistance from the U.S. Department of Education's FSA Ombudsman Group(opens in new window) through StudentAid.gov.

The FSA Ombudsman Group assists borrowers with disputes involving federal student aid programs, including:

  • Direct Loans
  • Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program loans
  • Federal Perkins Loans
