The Office of Faculty Development invites all lecturers to our annual Lecturer Academy. This event is curated to share resources that support you as a lecturer and further develop your sense of belonging at Chico State.   9:00 - 9:30 a.m. Chiara Ferrari (Moderator)	Welcome and Opening Remarks Coffee and Conversations Join us for an informal welcome. Coffee, pastries, and fruit will be provided.
  9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Tiffani Anderson (Moderator) Mahalley Allen (Presenter)	Session 1: OAPL Presentation on Order of Assignment for Lecturer Faculty(opens in new window) - slides (Google Slide) This session will review the CBA’s rules about order of work assignment, time base entitlements, and one and three-year contracts. We will also discuss re-employment rights and the meaning of “careful consideration” in the CBA.
  10:45 - 11:45 a.m. Tiffani Anderson (Moderator) Robin Yant (Presenter)	Session 2: OAPL Presentation on Contracts, salary schedules, and range elevation(opens in new window) - slides (Google Slide) This session will focus on understanding the terms of your contract, how to advocate for a salary increase when appropriate, and Range Elevation eligibility and preparation.
  11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.	Lunch A meal will be provided or you are welcome to bring your own.
  1:00 - 1:30 p.m. Chiara Ferrari (Moderator) Jennifer Underwood (Presenter)	Session 3: Dossier Writing Resources - slides (Google Slide) Lecturer faculty will present dossier resources and example dossiers will be presented.
  1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Tiffani Anderson (In Person Facilitator) Chiara Ferrari (Zoom Facilitator)	Session 4: Dossier Writing Workshop This is a working session so bring your dossier and internet ready device. You will see a couple of example dossiers and have the opportunity to work in college/unit specific groups to ensure that you are including all that your discipline requires in the dossier.

  1st Annual Lecturer Academy

  The Office of Faculty Development invites all lecturers to the 1st annual Lecturer Academy. This event is a chance to discuss resources available while showing support and creating a sense of belonging for our lecturers at Chico State! Most of all, this is an occasion to celebrate all that the lecturers contribute to our institution!

  10:45 -11:45	Session 2: Opportunities for Lecturers in Faculty Development(opens in new window)| Slides (Google Slide) Description: This session will explore opportunities available in faculty development and how these programs can specifically serve lecturers. This includes innovative pedagogy, support preparation for class evaluations, and incorporating equity, diversity, and inclusion into your curriculum.

  1:00 - 2:00	Session 3: Dossier Preparation for Career Advancement(opens in new window) | Slides (Google Slide) Description: This session explores how to write an effective narrative in your dossier and the impact the dossier can have on career advancement.  Additionally, did you know that lecturers can apply for sabbatical? Learn about how a good dossier can improve your chances for approval.

  2:15 - 3:15	Session 4: Balancing Professional and Academic Life(opens in new window) Description: Feel like you are being pulled in multiple directions? Or that you are spread too thin to give 100% in all of your undertakings? This session might not offer all of the answers, but we might be able to share our experiences and offer some balancing techniques.
