Portrait of Tiffani AndersonI am a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Chair of Lecturer Council, and it is my honor to be serving as the inaugural Lecturer Mentor for the Office of Faculty Development. This position is a great opportunity for outreach to our lecturer faculty and is one step towards enabling lecturers to realize that our voices can make a difference in our experiences on campus. I look forward to meeting lecturers throughout the semester to help you navigate the many resources available to you!

    Lecturer Council Executive Memorandum(opens in new window)

    The mission of the Lecturers’ Council is to represent and advocate for the many lecturers who contribute so significantly to teaching excellence and student success at CSU, Chico.

    We seek to create reliable and consistent channels of communication to ensure consistent access to positive support and opportunities that enhance lecturers’ professional success within departments, colleges, and the university.

    Moreover, we endeavor to serve in a supportive role to the Academic Senate while fostering a sense of connection and community.

    Tiffani Anderson

    College of Natural Sciences

    Tiffani joined the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry as a lecturer faculty member, teaching a wide variety of chemistry classes. Over the past few years, she has served as the Chair of the Lecturers' Council as well as the lecturer representative for the FEDV Advisory Board. She is committed to advocating for lecturer causes and working with lecturers to reach their full potential in their careers. She is a Chico State Alumni, earning her B.S. in Chemistry, and graduated with her M.S. in Chemistry from Purdue University.

    Eileen Morris

    College of Behavioral & Social Sciences

    Eileen Morris has a BA in Political Science and majored in legal studies because she finds the law and government to be so important. Eileen also minored in Religious Studies and still has a deep interest in religion as an important aspect of human culture. She achieved a MA in Political Science with a focus on American Government, Public Administration, and International Relations. Eileen has 18 years of teaching experience at the college level but when not teaching, she can be found with her family, dancing or teaching dance classes, hiking in nature or bird watching, going to yoga class and always trying to get to the beach.

    Michael Bello

    Library Representative

    “My name is Michael Bello and I am the cataloging/ERM librarian for the Meriam Library. My wife and I moved to Chico in June 2019 from Santa Cruz, California. I worked as a library assistant at UC Santa Cruz for 17 years. I enjoyed the work and decided to pursue a career in librarianship, so I went back to school and received my MLIS from San Jose State in 2017.”

    Phil Clements

    College of Agriculture

    Phil Clements teaches writing and sustainability courses for the College of Agriculture and the First Year Experience Program, and coordinates the Science, Technology, and Society GE pathway. He is the author of Science in an Extreme Environment: the 1963 American Mount Everest Expedition, writes about climate change, and has a dual PhD in Science Studies and History.

    Erin Horst

    College of Humanities & Fine Arts 

    Erin Horst (she/her) is the Humanities and Fine Arts representative on the Lecturer Council. She teaches in the music and theatre department. Erin is also a co-founder of Legacy Stage, Chico's newest professional theatre company. Erin earned an MA in Theatre History and Dramaturgy from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) and a BFA in Acting from Chapman University in Orange, CA.

    Charlie Pooler

    College of Engineering, Computer Science & Construction Management

    Like most Lecturers, teaching was not on Charlie’s radar when the opportunity arose. Charlie has been teaching now for over six years in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing within the College of Engineering and has enjoyed everything that a job in Higher Education can offer. Charlie holds a B.S. in Sustainable Manufacturing and a Professional Sciences Master’s in Environmental Science both from CSU, Chico. He spends his free time with his three children, and beautiful wife outside.

    Aaron Draper

    College of Communication & Education

    Aaron Draper has worked as a professional commercial photographer for the past 20 years. He earned an MFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. In addition, he recently graduated from law school. He teaches photography and content creation in the Media Arts Design and Technology Department in the College of Communication and Education. He has a dog “Tiki” and a cat “Wednesday.”

    Angela Casler

    College of Business

    Angela is a full-time lecturer in the Department of Management. She teaches Survey of Management, International Management, Human Resource Management, Performance Management, and Managing for Sustainability. She also serves as the principal partner of Sustainability Management Consulting, a strategic planning company. From Corporate America’s financial services industries and international banking, to small business ownership in transportation and consulting, her journey has enabled her to design solutions for many diverse industries.
