Summer Programs

• Chico Affordable Learning Solutions (Google Doc) - In Person: 5/26-5/28 - Applications are closed.
  • Want to decrease course costs for students? And at the same time provide students with high-quality and accessible course materials? Participate in a three-day Summer workshop designed to help faculty evaluate Open Educational Resources (OER) and other zero-cost or affordable course materials for your courses. Faculty who complete the training, including developing a cost-savings plan for one course for the next academic year, will earn a $750 stipend*.
• AI Retrofit (Google Doc) - Online: 5/26-5/29 - Applications are closed.
  • The AI Retrofit has received some of the highest program evaluations of anything we have ever offered. It has also been adapted at four other CSUs, all of which report positive outcomes. This process works. Our emphasis is on adaptation, not necessarily adoption of AI. This completely online intensive gives faculty the tools, space, and time to carefully consider key questions about AI and their instruction. Faculty who attend four days of online sessions and complete deliverables are eligible for a $500 stipend*. 
• Writing (Google Doc) - In Person: 5/18-5/21 and 5/26-5/29 - Applications are closed.
  •  In this intensive, in-person setting, we’ll alternate big blocks of solo writing time with small-group workshops to share your ideas, drafts in process, and writing challenges with others. Receive feedback on your writing and make progress on your goals. Participating faculty will receive a $350 training and professional development stipend* for attending at least 7/8 of our meetings.

*The Office of Faculty Affairs (FAAF) will verify eligibility for payment, and individual faculty will be notified if FAAF has any questions or concerns about employment status conflicting with eligibility to receive a stipend payment (i.e. leave with pay, sabbatical, emeritus).
