I was mainly raised in the Glenn County town of Willows, from 4th grade to graduation. Go Honkers! I attended Butte College for one semester and began my journey at Chico State as a first-generation EOP student in 2002. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2006 and was supported through my master’s degree program in social work as part of the Title IV-E program. As a low-income student, I couldn’t have made it through graduate school without the financial and educational support I received. I worked with Glenn County Children’s Services for about a decade, where I fell in love with the amazing, resilient foster youth population through my work with the Independent Living Program and Extended Foster Care. I have taught in the Social Work Department since 2017 and have gravitated toward supporting students through the challenges they face so they can be successful. Joining PATH Scholars may just be my most exciting journey yet!
