Event Parking

Parking Permits

  • Any vehicle parked in a campus parking lot on a weekday is required to have a parking permit. Violations will be cited. Permits may be purchased by a designated campus department host, or by the guest through the Passport Parking app or through various permit dispensers.
    • The guest parking permit may be a physical permit or a digital permit based on the vehicle license plate.
    • Weekends, no permit required but must park in a marked stall.
    • CA State Exempt plates do not require a permit but must park in designated general parking.
    • Accessibility stalls require the appropriate DMV plate/placard and a campus parking permit.
  • Weekdays up to 5 p.m., only General parking areas are available for guest parking.
    • After 5 p.m. many reserved permit spaces are available for any permit use.
  • All parking spaces on campus are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Purchasing a parking permit does not guarantee a parking space.
  • Reserving parking spaces for an event is not available.

Loading and Unloading

  • All fire lanes, red curbs, no parking areas, bike lanes and all other locations not specifically marked as a designated yellow loading zone or posted time limited parking are prohibited for use as loading and unloading. Violations will be cited.
  • Authorized yellow loading zones and posted time limited parking for the main campus are located:
    • Student Services Center
    • O’Connell Technology Center
    • Yolo Hall
    • Aymer J. Hamilton
    • Holt Hall
    • Short term unloading is available in two designated spots on Warner St., enforced by the City of Chico.
  • Loading or unloading may also be done in campus parking lots with the appropriate parking permit for the stall being used.
