Facilities Reservations & Event Services

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Chico State charge for the use of its facilities?

All CSU campuses are required to be reimbursed for use of state resources by non-state entities and off-campus users. This system-wide policy, Executive Order 1000(opens in new window), was established by the Chancellor’s Office in July 2007 to ensure effective oversight of state funds.

University Hours

In 2017, the campus expanded operating hours to allow more options for scheduling on-campus events.

Monday-Friday     7:00am-10:00pm

Saturday             8:00am-5:00pm

Sunday               12:00pm-10:00pm

*Library hours may vary

Approved university users now include the following:

  • Division, college, and department meetings and events
  • University recognized student organizations
  • IRA funded student programs

Hosted events that support the University mission, including co-curricular learning experiences for Chico State students, are no longer charged a facilities fee.
