First-Year Experience

Join our Team!

Our Event Coordinators and Peer Mentors play a key role in supporting first-year students during their transition to Chico State. Peer Mentors will be embedded in U-Courses designed to increase retention and sense of belonging among first-year students. They also help first-year students successfully transfer to university life. Event Coordinators play an integral role in the preparation and execution of our Public Sphere Pedagogy Events (Chico Great Debate, Town Hall Meeting, and Sense of Place). Prior significant knowledge of pedagogy, learning theories or office management is not necessary for either position, but a demonstrated willingness to learn is required. We seek exceptional students from all majors to serve in these high impact leadership roles.

Please note: Before completing the application, please understand that everyone is required to take a prerequisite class (UNIV 189) before being eligible for employment.
