Amusement Park Science

This exhibit was on display in the North Gallery from May 27 through September 3, 2017.

Amusement Park Science newt on a rollercoaster

What’s the next best thing to building a real roller coaster in Chico? Visiting Gateway's summer exhibit, Amusement Park Science, and exploring the physics behind the FUN of amusement park rides. Amusement Park Science is a fascinating, interactive exhibit that includes a Family Fun Guide to further enhance your experience.

You won’t want to miss learning how the rides work as you explore models including the Bumper Blaster, Create-A-Coaster, Wacky Waves, Magnetic Circus, Wild Wheels Road Block, the Rotor, Momentum Machine and Bump-O-Ramma. Examine the working amusement park ride models by K'Nex and then build your own in the K’Nex Activity Area.

Exhibition organized by The Discovery Center Museum, Rockford, Illinois.

College of Natural Sciences Research Posters

This exhibit was on display in the James W. Cornyn Valley Gallery from May 27 through September 3, 2017.

College of Natural Sciences Research posters

This exhibition reflects a small but diverse sampling of student and faculty research projects from departments within the College of Natural Sciences at CSU, Chico. They stand as a testament to CSU, Chico’s commitment to undergraduate research. Gateway is honored to showcase undergraduate research and related faculty projects from the Spring 2017 semester. It is our hope that visitors will gain a deeper appreciation for the range of research being done at CSU, Chico and similar institutions nationwide, and that young minds will be inspired.
