GE/2021 Consultation (2018-19)

The WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), at its meeting June 28, 2019, commended Chico State (PDF) for the "process for continuous improvement" of its GE Program. In 2018-19, this process involved numerous public meetings of the Curriculum Advisory Board, the Educational Policies & Programs Committee, and the Academic Senate. Additional consultation with multiple stakeholders contributed to the approved changes, including:

In 2018, Chico State completed a five-year review of its excellent and distinctive General Education (GE) Program, and the Academic Senate responded promptly by approving changes to GE (for Fall 2022) to make GE Minors even more coherent, meaningful and authentic, while adding more possibilities for exploration for students not pursuing a GE Minor.
