Giving to Chico State

Robert Talley

Director of Development—Athletics

Robert Talley became the Wildcats’ frontline fundraiser in June 2016. His passion for mentoring student-athletes and track-record of building successful athletics programs reflects the mission of Chico State Athletics. As we build a culture of philanthropy, Robert is excited to engage and partner with our Wildcat alumni, parents, and fans to generate more resources for our remarkable student-athletes, coaches, and programs.

Most recently, Robert served nine years as head football coach at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts, where he was named the 2013 New England Football Writers Division II/III Coach of the Year and a Liberty Mutual Division II Coach of the Year finalist. His 25-year coaching career also includes positions at University of Massachusetts Amherst, Colby College, and Dartmouth College. He spent two years working for the San Francisco 49ers and five summers in the NFL Minority Coaching Fellowship Program as an assistant coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, and New York Giants.

Robert holds a BS degree in business administration from Boston University and is working toward a master’s in management and leadership from Western Governors University. He and his wife Sarah have two sons, Jackson and Spencer.
