Faculty & Staff Resources
- Second Bachelor's Degree/Post-baccalaureate (PBacc) students
The Degree Progress Report (DPR) and other e-tools are currently only available for undergraduate students pursuing their first bachelor's degree. For those pursuing a second bachelor’s degree, a Clearance Form is used to track requirements in place of the DPR. It will list all courses required for each program that a student is pursuing. A template for the Clearance Form is available in box.
Please be aware that any transfer work taken prior to the first degree will not be posted to the student's record (unless the first degree was earned at Chico State). Students can provide an unofficial transcript for your review when you meet, or you can contact our office and we can provide a hard copy for pickup.
If a PBacc student would like to make changes to their declared program, a specific PBacc Plan Change form is required and can also be found in box.
Contact your College Advising Retention Specialist (CARS) for the forms in box and more information about the PBacc process.
Students will still apply for graduation using our online graduation application, and can apply one year in advance of their final term.
See Requirements for a Second Bachelor's Degree in the catalog for details on required units, grades, residency, and GPA.
- Processing timesSubstitutions
Substitution requests can take up to four (4) weeks to be updated in the DPR. If the request cannot be processed at the time of submission, a note will be made in the request. An email will be sent to you and the student once the request is closed.
Transfer Credit
Transcript posting can take up to four (4) weeks after the transcript is received in our office. You can see transfer work posted in the Transfer Credit tab of the Advisee/Faculty Center.
Degree Conferral
The awarding of degrees is dependent on multiple administrative processes within the Office of the Registrar. Degrees are typically posted to the academic record and can be verified 4 - 6 weeks after the official graduation conferral date of the term. Spring conferral date is May 31, Summer conferral date is August 31, and Fall conferral date is December 31.
- E-Advising Tools
The Chico State Degree Audit Programming (DGAP) webpage explains how the university supports students’ academic progress through a set of integrated advising and planning tools. DGAP works behind the scenes to provide accurate, up-to-date information about degree requirements and completion status for students, faculty, and staff.
DGAP is responsible for the Degree Progress Report (DPR), which acts as a personalized checklist of graduation requirements, the Degree Planner for mapping out a long-term academic plan, the Schedule Builder for creating class schedules, and the Shopping Cart for easy course registration. Together, these tools help students review their requirements, plan their coursework, organize schedules, and successfully register for classes, all while ensuring their progress toward graduation is clear and well-managed.
Please visit their webpage for detailed guides on how to use these tools, how to submit an advisor request, and for any questions.
