General Information
The council provides a platform to address issues and concerns pertaining to graduate life at CSU Chico. The Council also provides social interaction and arranges events and workshops on subjects that are important to graduate students.
What is the Council of Graduate Students?
The Council of Graduate Students (COGS) is composed of a general membership, (no dues or fees), and an Executive Board comprised of elected or appointed members. As a post-baccalaureate student, you are already part of the general membership and able to take advantage of all the benefits COGS offers.
What does the Council of Graduate Students do?
COGS provides social engagement, leadership opportunities, and a wide variety of events covering a diverse list of subjects. They also address graduate student issues, and represent graduate students at monthly meeting of the Graduate Council (not to be confused with the Council of Graduate Students) which includes the Graduate Dean and Chico State Faculty serving as Graduate Program Coordinators. If you have a problem or item you would like to address to the Graduate Dean and the Graduate Coordinators, send an email "Attn: Graduate Council" to graduatestudies@csuchico.edu.
How can I be involved?
Join the board as an executive member, or stop by our monthly meetings and share your ideas. It does not matter if you are new to the graduate program, mid-way, or in your last semester, your input and experience are highly valued by the Council of Graduate Students. If you think you would be interested in serving on the Executive Board please send an email "Attn: COGS President" to graduatestudies@csuchico.edu or attend one of our scheduled monthly meetings.
I am a COGS Officer. How can I create an event on CatsConnect?
