Council of Graduate Students

COGS logoThe mission of the Council of Graduate Students is to provide direct support to post baccalaureate students by creating a bond amongst graduate students of all disciplines and helping them network with peers. The Council of Graduate Students strives to maintain an avenue for a group voice representative of post baccalaureate students when communicating with the University and the Office of Graduate Studies.

What is the Council of Graduate Students?

The Council of Graduate Students (COGS) is composed of a general membership, (no dues or fees), and an Executive Board comprised of elected or appointed members. As a post-baccalaureate student, you are already part of the general membership and able to take advantage of all the benefits COGS offers.

What does the Council of Graduate Students do?

COGS provides social engagement, leadership opportunities, and a wide variety of events covering a diverse list of subjects. They also address graduate student issues, and represent graduate students at monthly meeting of the Graduate Council (not to be confused with the Council of Graduate Students) which includes the Graduate Dean and Chico State Faculty serving as Graduate Program Coordinators. If you have a problem or item you would like to address to the Graduate Dean and the Graduate Coordinators, send an email "Attn: Graduate Council" to

How can I be involved?
