Spring 2022 Master’s Commencement

Guest Tickets

Your guest tickets were emailed.  Every graduate who registered to participate in Commencement, was emailed 8 guest tickets to their CSU, Chico email.  Tickets are electronic or print-at-home and are barcoded for only one scanned entry.

Guests older than 2 are required to have a ticket.  

Updated Regalia Rental Information

  • At 1 p.m. on Monday, May 16, master's students can begin in-person regalia rental in BMU 210.  Rentals for master's graduates will continue during Wildcat Store hours until the master's ceremony on Wednesday evening.  Master's graduates are asked to arrive at the Stadium by 6:00 p.m. 
  • Pre-orders: Because of the production and delivery delay, students who pre-ordered and selected home shipping will have their order redirected to campus.  They may pick up their regalia order in person starting 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17 in BMU 210 and continuing through Wednesday, May 18.  Herff Jones will refund the shipping fee.
  • Wildcat Store Hours for Commencement Week
    Monday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Tuesday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Wednesday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    Thursday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    Friday 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    Sunday 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Rental Cost: $73 + tax
  • Gown and hood are not available for purchase.  The cap and tassel are yours to keep.  
  • Drop off location: There will be a drop-off container near the Wildcat Store otherwise graduates can drop them off inside the Wildcat Store up until the Monday after their ceremony without being charged a late/non-return fee.  

COVID-19 attendance policy


On March 11, Chico State announced an update to the COVID-19 safety policies for Commencement 2022, as directed by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. 

  • All Commencement 2022 attendees and participants are encouraged to be fully vaccinated
  • Face coverings are optional but welcome in indoor and outdoor facilities
  • Chico State Commencement COVID-19 safety policies are subject to change. Please check the Commencement website before attending any Chico State public event

Guidelines for Stadium Ceremonies:

Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will not be required to enter stadium. Masks are not required at outdoor events. 

Participation Requirements (Easy as 1, 2, 3)

Master's students have a 4-semester window of eligibility.  Eligibility to participate is limited to graduates of summer 2021, graduates of fall 2021, candidates for graduation in spring 2022, and candidates for graduation for the graduation cycle of summer 2022.

 1) Apply for Graduation by February 18, 2022.  All students in the spring 22 and summer 22 graduation cycles must Apply for Graduation by 2-18-22 if they wish to participate in Commencement.  (Summer 21 and Fall 21 graduates have already completed this step.)  This is a very important step to make it to the invite/eligible-to-participate lists and to have your name printed in the Commencement program.  

2) Marching Order Sign-up by April 20: sign-up here to have your name phonetically pronounced and displayed correctly.  Please note, you will not be able to complete this Marching Order step until you have applied for graduation. (Step 1)   MARCHING ORDER SIGN-UP IS CLOSED.

3) Sign-up to Register Your Participation by April 30, 2022. In addition to applying for graduation, students must also register to participate.  Invitations to participate were delivered to all of those students who applied for spring and summer graduation, received an exception to walk early, or graduated last year in the summer and fall terms. The link to register is below. REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.

  • Registration permission tips: Login using your CSU Chico Wildcat username and password in order to gain accessto register. This form is not accessible from any other email account including campus staff email or personal Gmail accounts. Sign-out of your Gmail or staff email first, and then login to your account.
