Grad Studies YouTube ChannelPsychological Science Master's Graduate Kanvarbir Gill Accepted into PhD Program
2022 Psychological Sciences Master's graduate and outgoing Council of Graduate Students president Kanvarbir Gill will pursue doctoral studies at the University of Oklahoma.
Gill, who was also a recipient of the Graduate Equity Fellowship, will begin his PhD studies in the Department of Educational Psychology in Fall 2022. He is interested in researching how social identities influence the perceptions we form and how those perceptions can affect students’ motivation, engagement, and academic emotions in learning environments.
Gill also mentored undergraduate students exploring and preparing for graduate school as a Wayfinders Mentor in the Adelante Postbaccalaureate Pipeline Program designed to support Latinx and low-income students to prepare for, apply to, and successfully attain master’s degrees and teaching credentials.
He has participated in many panels sharing his experiences and advice with students exploring graduate school, and he continues to be available to students who may wish to contact him; his current email address is gill@ou.edu.
