When are you expecting to graduate?

If I take my classes as planned, I should be graduated by the end of Fall 2022.

What’s it like to be a student at Chico State?

There are lots of things to be part of while attending Chico State. From the many clubs on campus to performing arts and multicultural events, most students can find a place to fit in. Another good thing about being a student here is the class sizes. While some of the general education classes are really big, most of my other classes have been relatively small; this means I can create a better relationship with my professors and peers.

What’s been your favorite class at Chico State and why?

It is hard to pick a favorite class because I have loved so many of them. But if I had to pick some, I would say that I enjoyed Honors Virtue/Justice, History of Ancient Philosophy, and Environmental Ethics the most. Troy Jollimore and Heather Altfeld taught Honors Virtue and Randy Larsen taught both Ancient Philosophy and Environmental Ethics.  Both of those classes were awesome because I loved the subject matter. Moreover, the small class sizes allowed for deep conversations and Socratic seminar-type discussion. The professors were great, too.

What would be your most important advice for incoming freshman?

If I could give any advice to incoming freshman, it would be to get to know your professors. Some of my favorite classes and good grades are due to me attending office hours and raising my hand in class. Whether you have a clarifying question or an answer, being involved in class and talking with your teachers will help you improve your understanding of the subject.

What do you plan on doing when you graduate from Chico State?

I am not sure where I will end up after I graduate. At some point I may go to graduate school, but only after I save up some money. Maybe one day I will own my own business or be a college professor (those are some of the pathways I am entertaining).
