Former MA Student Wins Big Award!

Jeanette Adame has been selected as the 2019-2020 Western Association of Graduate Schools (WAGS) and ProQuest Distinguished Masters Thesis Award (Non-STEM) winner for her work titled "Citing Divine and Human Laws: Women of African Descent and the New Orleans Cabildo, 1769-1800." Jeanette will receive a $1000 prize and an invitation to attend the 62nd-annual WAGS conference in Albuquerque and present her work. While a graduate student at Chico State, Jeanette worked with Drs. Magliari, Tinkler, and Madar, and conducted archival research in New Orleans with generous financial support from the Clarence McIntosh-William Hutchinson Graduate Fellowship Award.
