  • What motivates you? Describe a time when your motivation helped you overcome adversity or accomplish something you are very proud of.

First-Semester Student Admission Requirements

To apply to the Honors Program before your first semester, you should

  1. have been admitted to Chico State; and
  2. have a High School GPA of 3.5 or above.

Students with less than a 3.5 GPA may still apply and provide an explanation for the lower GPA on the application.

Transfer, Re-entry, and Current Chico State Student Admission Requirements

To apply to the Honors Program as a transfer student, re-entry student, or current Chico State student, you should

  1. be enrolled at Chico State or have been admitted to Chico State; and
  2. have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above.

Students with less than a 3.3 GPA can still apply and provide an explanation for the lower GPA on the application.

Transfer, re-entry and current students interested in Honors in GE should meet with an Honors advisor to discuss their Honors course requirements. In most cases, the number of units required will be reduced because of previously completed coursework.
