Honors Study Abroad
- June 2026 - Ireland
Irish Poetry, Literature, Art, and History!
HNRS 303 (UD-3) and HNRS 304 (UD-4) will be taught in Summer 2026, and the courses will begin in the West of Ireland (with Galway as base) where students will learn about the Celtic Revival (literature and art, HNRS 303), Irish Romanticism, and Irish National Identity and Nationalism (history, HNRS 304).
In Dublin, students will explore the Celtic Revival in its urban context (watching a Celtic Revival play at the Abbey Theatre), as well as experience other Cosmopolitan versions of Irishness. In particular, as the course will take place on Bloomsday (the annual June 16 celebration of Ulysses and all things James Joyce), students will be immersed in fun and scholarly commemorations of 1904 Dublin.
If you love poetry, literature, art, and history then this is the course for you.
