Honors Program

Honors House at Sutter Hall

Honors Housing is located in Sutter Hall. Sutter Hall is the newest residence hall on campus. More information can be found at the University Housing.

Students of any class level who apply and are accepted to Honors in General Education are eligible to live in an Honors House; on a space available basis. Space is limited, so you need to apply early if you are interested.

Requirements to Live in Honors Housing

All students entering CSU Chico as first-time freshmen or an honors student of any class may apply to live in Honors Housing.

To apply for Honors Housing, simply mark the appropriate box on the Honors Program application for freshmen or transfer students.

In addition to indicating your Honors Housing interest on the Honors Program application, you must also go to the University Housing website to complete the on-line housing application and submit payment. Completing these steps is necessary for on-campus housing eligibility.

Placement in the Honors House is determined by the Honors Program, not University Housing and Food Service. You can select Sutter as your first choice on the on-line Housing application, but you should also select a second and third preference as well.

If you miss the on-line housing process, you greatly decrease your chance of securing a space in the Honors House, as well as the other on-campus housing options.

Any payment made to the University for housing is transferable should you be selected for Honors Housing.
