Emily (she/her) was born in sunny Southern California and grew up in the storybook-worthy San Bernardino Mountains. She graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 2013 with degrees in Chinese Studies, International Studies, and Saxophone Performance. While there, Emily worked as both a Resident Advisor and Residence Coordinator, discovering that housing was her happy place.
Her career took her to Sonoma State as an Assistant Area Coordinator before she was swept off her feet by the team at CSU Chico. She spent six years in University Housing before stepping into her current role as Senior Coordinator for Conduct and Compliance. In 2023, she earned her Master’s in Public Administration and will graduate in May 2026 with a Master’s in Business Administration.
Emily’s calling is helping students reach their full potential, to be happy, healthy, and whole, and she’s especially passionate about social justice and equity work. When she’s not fulfilling her passion, she’s with her partner and their wonderful son, lifting heavy things at Upper Park CrossFit, wandering the aisles of Barnes & Noble, or working her way through the city’s best coffee shops.
