Maia Read

Originating from Chico, California, Maia Read is a Northern California native who finds interest in reading and watching sci-fi and fantasy realms in addition to creating her own worlds with friends in a game of Dungeons and Dragons. She also enjoys a night of board games, knitting, baking, hiking in upper Bidwell park or taking walks with her cat, Luci. Maia graduated from California State Polytechnic Humboldt in 2023 with a B.A. in Liberal Studies Elementary Education and K-12 teaching credentials. In Spring of 2021, Maia began a Residence Life career as a Resident Advisor, at Cal Poly Humboldt housing, until the Fall of 2022 when the opportunity to be a Senior Advisor opened for the final year of her college career. Following graduation, Maia entered an internship for the Walt Disney World College Program in Florida where she worked for a year as an attractions and fireworks cast member in Fantasyland at Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom. During her time in the internship, Maia participated in a series of classes the Disney College Program provided to learn about the company, the different departments, and the way they train cast members in a professional environment.

Upon returning to Chico in August of 2024, Maia was granted the opportunity to continue her Residence Life career at Chico State University Housing where she now works as a Residence Life Coordinator.
