Originally from Mililani Town, Hawai‘i, Maxine Brissenden has been part of Chico State’s University Housing team since 2018. She currently serves as Coordinator for Housing Services, where she oversees all resident communications, manages University Housing’s website and social media, and coordinates major events such as Choose Chico, Wildcat Preview, and Move-In. You may find Maxine presenting at a variety of campus events, or serving as the liaison between Housing and other university departments.
Her connection to University Housing began during her undergraduate years when she experienced an apartment fire. The support she received from Basic Needs and University Housing not only provided stability but also led to her first role in the department, an experience that continues to inspire her commitment to giving back and supporting students.
Maxine earned her MBA from Chico State in 2023 after completing her bachelor’s in Health Services Administration in 2021. Beyond campus, she has served on Enloe Medical Center’s Plane Tree Board, supporting patient-centered practices and healthcare improvements.
In her free time, she is passionate about fighting social injustices, making art, and playing rugby. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Maxine is dedicated to serving as a safe space and resource for all Chico State students.
