Destiny Montgomery is an enthusiastic and vibrant alumna from both San Jose State University (SJSU) and California State University, Northridge (CSUN), she is a proud Inglewood, CA native. She graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor’s in Communication Studies and minor in Radio, Television and Film. During her time at San Jose State, she was able to host her own radio show and Zumba classes, converse with legendary individuals such as Angela Davis, Sonia Sotomayor and Van Jones and make impactful changes in the lives her residents. After her experiences working in residential life as a resident assistant at SJSU for three years, Destiny graduated as Summa Cum Laude of her class in 2018 and went on to complete her Master’s in Mass Communication & Journalism at CSUN.  

During her free time, Destiny can be found shopping around town aiming to find all the fabulous, trendy clothes she loves to wear, watching scary movies at the local Cinemark or at home and discovering all the best foods, especially the sweet treats that the city of Chico has to offer. Destiny is a hard-working, feminist that is passionate about educating students on the importance of social justice, diversity, equity and inclusion. She is also passionate about helping underrepresented students enhance their love for higher education by providing them with various resources available to minority students on Chico State’s campus. One of her favorite quotes to motivate others is, “In whatsoever thing you do, strive to do it so well that no one dead, no one living and no one yet to be born can do it better than you!” Destiny is so excited to welcome and support our on-campus community in her role as a Residence Life Coordinator!

Eve is a proud and spirited Chico State alumna and originally from Long Beach, CA.  She graduated from Chico State with a Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies and minor in Spanish.  During her time at Chico, she was able to work on her Spanish minor and dance skills in Costa Rica during her study abroad experience.  After her experiences working in admissions as a tour guide and as a Peer Advisor for Summer Orientation, Eve went on to complete her Master’s in Education at Texas State University where she earned her graduate degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education.

During her free time, Eve can be found hiking in Bidwell Park, paddle boarding around Mt. Shasta, or on the Sacramento River.  Eve is a hard-working first-generation and low-income college graduate that enjoys making the most of every moment in life.  Eve is so excited to welcome and support our on-campus community in her role as a Residence Conduct Coordinator!
