Residence Life Coordinator

Tim Samuel has been working in higher education for about 4 years when he discovered that truly enjoys working with students and making an impact in their lives. He earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration and a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Recreation & Event Management with a minor in Communication from CMU. Throughout his time in college, he had the privilege of: being a Multicultural Advancement Scholar, Resident Assistant for 3 years, Hall Council President, completed the Disney College Program, and joined Pi Kappa Phi where he met his lifelong group of brothers.

In his previous role with Central Michigan University (CMU), he served as a Residence Hall Director overseeing 1-2 residence halls housing the transfer and teacher’s residential communities. He has also held positions in Student Account Services & University Billing and Catering & Concessions. So what made him want to continue working in Residence Life? For him, it’s all about inspiration. Working in Residence Life, you are there to inspire and help guide students’ lives, but many times you’ll find that your students are the ones inspiring you. How many students can say that each day during college they get to help someone learn and grow—and be equally inspired in return?

He knows that his college experience wouldn't have been the same without all the amazing people he met through Residence Life: fellow RAs, residents, professional staff, and mentors along the way. He is excited to join the Wildcats community this year and to work closely with the students and staff on campus.
