Kelly grew up in Michigan and went to college at Central Michigan University, where she studied math and American Sign Language. Kelly then continued her education and worked in Student Activities at Indiana State University. While there, Kelly also worked in housing at a small women’s college in the area – Saint Mary of the Woods College.
After graduation, Kelly moved to Tempe, AZ, to work in housing at Arizona State University. At ASU Kelly managed a dorm that housed first-year business students. After her time in AZ, Kelly moved to Chico to work in housing at CSU, Chico. Kelly worked in Housing for about a year, and the Dream Center and Star Center for a year, and then returned to University Housing to continue in her Residence Life Coordinator role.
In her free time, Kelly likes to bake, read (magical fiction and non-fiction about social justice), swim, and spend time with her two cats – Bo and Bentley. Visiting the farmers’ markets and playing trivia are some of Kelly’s favorite things to do in Chico.
