Career opportunities in the health industry continue to grow at a fast pace. There are many different paths that lead to careers working in the health field. Common careers in the health field include doctors and nurses, but there are many other majors you can study at Chico State that lead to careers helping people. These include: biology, child development, communication sciences and disorders, exercise physiology, health services administration, kinesiology, nursing, nutritionist, psychology, public health, and social work. There are also many career opportunities in the health field that require a degree beyond a bachelors (some are available at Chico State and some are not). These include: Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Dietitian, Marriage and Family Therapist, Personal Trainer, Physical Therapist, Physician, Physician Assistant, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Therapist.

This themed community is designed to support students as they find an educational path in the health field that fits with their skills, abilities, and interests that will lead to timely graduation and a rewarding career. Residents choosing to live in this community will:

  • Have easy access to other like-minded students
  • Have the opportunity to develop study groups for rigorous coursework
  • Have access to reserved study space (when available)

Choose to live in this community if:

  • You are committed to your education

We recommend that students in the community take the following courses during their Fall semester:

  • UNIV 198 (Section TBD) Specific to Health Services Special Topics
