Wildcat ID Reminder
Uploading Photo for ID Card(opens in new window)
If you attended or are planning to attend an in-person Summer Orientation session, where you will receive your Wildcat ID card then you are all set. However, if you are unable to attend or will be or attended the virtual Summer Orientation then you will need to follow the instructions below to upload a photo for your CSU Chico Wildcat ID card as soon as possible. This will allow us to have your Wildcat ID card ready for you at move-in. Your Wildcat ID card is how you will enter your residence hall and use your meal plan.
The deadline to submit a photo for Fall 2024 is to be determined. Photo submission is typically due during the month of July. Not submitting a photo will create additional steps at move-in. You will not have access to your room or meal plan.
Parking
We know how easy it is to get around Chico! Chico State students can ride the B-Line bus, zip around on their bikes in our bike-friendly community, or simply walk to many locations.
We realize that some of you may still want to bring your car to campus. Unfortunately, we don’t have enough spaces for everyone on campus (Esken, Mechoopda, Konkow, Éstom Jámani, Lassen and Shasta Halls), which means that we use a lottery system. University Village is able to accommodate a larger majority of students who are interested in purchasing a parking permit. If a car is necessary while living with University Housing, we recommend you consider living at UV.
If you are a “winner”, we will notify you to purchase a parking permit during what is known as the priority period that takes place in August. Official dates and times are to be determined.
If you miss this window, you will forfeit your “winner” status. Any unclaimed or leftover permits are available at a later date, until all permits are sold out. This date is to be determined.
You will be asked about your parking lottery interest during the acknowledgment of your community placement. Please make sure to review the parking permit information and rates.
Coordinating with Roommate/Suitemates
If you are residing at University Village or Konkow you will want to coordinate with your roommates to see who is bringing specific items for the kitchen, common rooms, etc. You are able to message your roommates and suitemates directly on the Resident Center through your room assignment.
Meal Plans
If you are assigned to Esken, Mechoopda, Lassen, Shasta, or Éstom Jámani Hall you were automatically assigned the 7-Day All Access meal plan.
If you would prefer to decrease your number of swipe access and Flex Cash available to you, you will have the chance to change your meal plan to the 5-Day All Access meal plan.
If you are assigned to Konkow or University Village, you were automatically assigned the Wildcat 5 (5 meals per week) meal plan.
On our Food and Dining page you can find info about dining locations and their hours.

MicroChill
We are thrilled to share with you that we will be offering a MicroChill unit (mini fridge and microwave combo) in all rooms in Shasta, Lassen, Éstom Jámani, Esken, and Mechoopda at no additional cost to you. UV and Konkow have full kitchens with ample fridge space and will not have a MicroChill unit in the rooms.
Students are not allowed to bring their own units.

Prior to Move-In Day: What if I do not like my room assignment?
If for any reason you feel that your placement is unreasonable, you can request a room reassignment. Please note that reassignment requests are not guaranteed.
- Login to your Resident Center
- Click “Requests” on the bar across the top of the screen.
- Select “Request Reassignment”.
Please take the time to consider if a reassignment is truly what you want, you will only be allowed to submit one request and no changes to the request will be allowed. The University Housing Assignments Team will do all they can to accommodate your request as space becomes available. If your reassignment request has not been granted by Move-In Day, you will need to submit a new request once you've moved to campus. There is a freeze for the first two weeks of the semester where there are no room movements permitted.
