Campus Housing Communities
Residence Hall Options
Chico State students have several options for where to live. We have traditional residence halls, theme programs and suite style living. Together, these communities provide housing for about 2,300 students, mostly first-time freshmen as well as new transfer students, International Students and upper class returning students.
Advantages of living in residence halls include:
- Leadership opportunities
- Supportive study environment with study lounges
- High Speed Internet access
- Live-in student and professional staff to assist residents
- All-you-care-to-eat meal plans
- On-site laundry facilities
- Free Printing
- Game Room/Lounges with TV
During the year residents develop into a close-knit community—a product of both the community itself and the students who live there. The diversity of living experiences and programs creates opportunities for all residents to participate in their community.
University Village (UV) is a university–owned, gated, suite-style community located near campus. Double Studios and Three Room Suites (three double rooms, six people total) provide students with an independent living opportunity that includes all of the great advantages of our traditional communities. University Village is a less than a mile walk or bike ride from campus. Free city bus service to and from campus is available. UV offers a free shuttle bus to and from the core of campus and the University Farm.
