Dear Colleagues,

As a California state University (CSU) employee, your pay check/direct deposit advice and annual W-2 are issued (hard copy) by the State Controller's Office (SCO). These hard copy documents have been the only means made available to your by the SCO as a record of your earnings, until now.

The SCO is piloting a tools that will allow state employees to view their earnings statements and W-2's along with personal information - called Cal Employee Connect (CEC).  Chico State employees have an opportunity to be part of the CEC pilot program.  Your feedback will help drive enhancements to Cal Employee Connect.

Join the CEC pilot

  1. Have a recent paper pay stub in hand
    1. It has information you will need that is not available from Payroll or the Chico State Portal
    2. You must be a state-side employee
  2. Be on campus, using the campus network
  3. Go to Cal Employee Connect(opens in new window)
  4. Select Register
  5. Follow the prompts to register using your campus email account (
  6. Once registered, you will be able to login to
    1. View and print your earnings statements/paychecks: current tax year and 2 tax years prior
    2. View and print W-2 information: 3 years are available

To get started, you will need to have a recent pay stub in hand, issued within the last six months. The pay stub contains the information needed for registration in the portal. The information you see your PeopleSoft/HR Employee Self Service on the campus portal may not work for registration to CEC.

Be a Part of the Pilot

Chico State employees have an opportunity to be a part of the CEC pilot program. Your participation as a CSU employee is vital to our statewide effort. Our goal is to make this tool as useful to all CSU employees as possible.

Your feedback will help drive enhancements to the portal. We want to encourage all state employees to participate. Cal Employee Connect (CEC) will ultimately reduce state costs and workload by providing a tool for all state employees to access their information electronically. Use this handout (PDF) to share this information with your state employee colleagues.

Please note that this new portal is owned and maintained by the State Controller’s Office and is not part of your PeopleSoft HR/Employee Self Service. We are excited to participate in the pilot program, and we hope you’ll enjoy being one of the first campuses to enjoy this new functionality.
