COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave for 2022

CSU Supplemental Paid Sick Leave (SPSL) is available for all represented and non-represented employees who are unable to work or telework due to COVID-19 related reasons. The program provides up to 80 hours (10 days) of supplemental paid sick leave (see requirements below), pro-rated based upon FTE, for all currently active employees from January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2022.

ALL state employees can submit requests for SPSL at this time using the request form linked below.

Full time employees can receive up to 80 hours from two separate up to 40-hour leave banks. (Less than full time employees leave hours will be prorated based on FTE).

  • Leave hours from one “up to 40-hour” bank will be available only if the employee tests positive for, or is caring for a family member who tests positive for, COVID-19. (Proof of positive test results required)
  • Leave hours from the second “up to 40-hour” bank will be available only for other covered reasons (quarantine or isolation, vaccine appointments or recovery, experiencing COVID symptoms and seeking medical diagnosis, closure of school or place of care for reasons related to COVID-19 on the premises).
