CMS-HR (PeopleSoft HR Access) Course Schedule

The Human Resources Information Systems and Payroll units offer training to individuals prior to providing CMS-HR (PeopleSoft-HR) access. Access is requested through the CMS-HR Security Authorization process.

A website detailing the available trainings, average hours, links to how to sign-up, tools, opening Team Dynamics ticket, and more, is available on CMS-HR Security and Training website.

Some training is offered on a scheduled basis, however individual sessions can be arranged by contacting the course facilitator.


Faculty & Staff workforce Admin - Inquire (scheduled sessions)

This class is directed toward HR and academic staff and will instruct users on how to perform an inquiry on employee data. Topics covered include: retention, tenure, promotion, separation, reassignment, increase or reduction in time base, suspension, leaves of absence, and pay rates.

Time & Labor - Student Payroll (Scheduled Sessions)

This class is directed toward Student Payroll Attendance Clerks who are responsible for student payroll and will instruct users in how to perform entry and approval of a student employee's time (1870 & 1871 only). This class will include an overview of the entire Time and Labor process and hands-on keying of any existing student pay in the current pay period into the production database. Coordination with your payroll analyst is required for attendance to this training class. Foundation and A.S. employees are not authorized to perform Time and Labor functions.

CSU ID Search Overview Request

This online training is for specific employees to overview the information available in the component of CSU ID Search and Person Organizational Summary. Camtasia Video offered through the DTS.

Prerequisite: None – HR Security Authorization form requesting CSU ID Search access only. (Includes WDCC, USRV)

Once the employee submits the HR Security Authorization form, the instructor will assign the e-course to the employee, and the DTS will notify them that they have been assigned training.

This class is directed toward HR and academic staff and will instruct users on how to perform an inquiry on employee data (i.e., retention, separation, rate of pay change) on student and volunteer employees. This class will also instruct users on how to locate Empl IDs and Position numbers. The beginning portion of the class will be an introduction to the CMS - HR Database Software.

Prerequisite: None – HR Security Authorization form requesting Student Information access only

Once the employee submits the HR Security Authorization form, the instructor will assign the e-course to the employee, and the DTS will notify them that they have been assigned training.

This class is directed toward HR and academic staff and will instruct users on how to perform an inquiry on employee data (i.e., retention, tenure, promotion, separation, reassignment, increase or reduction in time base, suspension, leaves of absence, rate of pay change) on faculty, staff, student and volunteer employees. This class will also instruct users on how to locate Empl IDs and Position numbers. The beginning portion of the class will be an introduction to the CMS - HR Database Software.

Prerequisite: None – HR Security Authorization form requesting Department Job/Position Information access only. (Incl FDTN, PRES, FAAF, FSRV, INST, NRAT, RMGT, UASA staff positions)

ISA Contract Generation

This course is intended to instruct users how to enter and generate Instructional Support Assistant (ISA) Academic Appointment Forms (AAF) and Academic Change Forms (ACF) from the upgraded HCM 8.9 system. This course takes users through the entire process to appoint and terminate ISA employees.

ISA Contract Generation Refresher Course

This class will be a refresher of the HCM 8.9 ISA Contract Generation process for Instructional Support Assistants. The second hour of the class will be a hands-on workshop to allow users to enter and generate current contracts or terminations.

Unit 3 and Unit 11 Contract Generation

This class is intended to instruct users on how contract information is entered and generated for unit 3 and unit 11 employees. This course is recommended for academic college AAS or those invited by an academic college AAS.

Person of Interest (POI) Training

This course is intended to instruct users how to enter and maintain data for Persons of Interest (POI)s. This access may also include the ability to add a new person to the database if they don’t have an existing Empl ID. This course takes users through the entire process to enter an appointment and termination for a POI, as well as enter personal information if needed. Typical users are employees of RCE, Patrons of the Library, and ALCI.

Attendance for this training is by invitation ONLY. Please do not sign up if you have not been notified to attend this training.
