Human Resources (HR) and Student Administration (SA) PeopleSoft database split

CS 9.2 Upgrade/Split Summary

The California State University (CSU) system is taking action to split the Human Resource and Student Administration databases. Currently the data for both HR and SA is in one database. Oracle has moved away from this model of combined data and all Higher Education users of the PeopleSoft application are splitting HR and SA data as a prerequisite for upgrading to PeopleSoft version 9.2. Note that PeopleSoft refers to the Student Administration data as “Campus Solutions” (CS). Thus the project is titled CS 9.2 Upgrade/Split.

In the California State University system, the requirement to split is being implemented with an upgrade to 9.2 for Student Administration while Human Resource will remain on PeopleSoft version 9.0 until the Common Human Resources System (CHRS) implementation. This means that for Human Resources there is relatively no change to Human Resources functionality for end-users as part of this change. Integration Broker (IB) will be utilized to pass shared data between the HR and SA databases.
