New Employees
New state employees (faculty, staff, management, and student employees) must complete online compliance courses within 30 days of their first day of work.
Employees are auto-assigned training through the CSU employee training system, CSU Learn, a week or two before their first paycheck.
Note to Supervisors: After an employee is in active pay status in CHRS, please allow three nights (for overnight processes) to pass before asking the employee to check email for training notices.
Employees can begin taking training after it has been auto-assigned. Employees should work with their supervisor to schedule time to complete the online training. Please watch for emails from training@csuchico.edu.
Why is Compliance Training Required?
All CSU, Chico employees—including faculty, staff, managers, and student employees—must complete online compliance training as part of their job duties. These courses are required to ensure compliance with state and university mandates established under federal law, state law, and CSU policy(opens in new window). Compliance Course Assignment Process
In CSU Learn, courses are assigned to groups of employees called audiences. Course assignments occur nightly, and courses may have rolling or fixed due dates. The assignment of a course depends on the audience rules, the course due date, and when/if the employee last completed it.
For example, Title IX is set up with several audiences and uses a fixed annual due date (October 1) after the initial course completion.
CSU Learn Notifications
