Dependent Fee Waiver Option

Eligible employees may transfer their fee waiver benefit to their spouse, domestic partner or a dependent child. (Each employee must submit a dependent fee waiver app for every term to be applied.)

Student Financial Aid may be affected by the use of fee waiver. Contact the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office at the campus that your dependent is attending to see how financial aid will be affected by participation in the Fee Waiver Program. At Chico State, the number is 530-898-6451.

What you need to do...

To transfer your fee waiver (tuition reduction) benefit to an eligible dependent, submit a Dependent Fee Waiver Application(opens in new window) to Learning and Development through AdobeSign.

Process Steps

  1. First-time students apply to be admitted through Cal State Apply(opens in new window) to the CSU campus they plan to attend and be admitted into a CSU degree program as a matriculated student. (Please note the CSU deadlines(opens in new window).)
  2. Employee submits Dependent Fee Waiver application (opens in new window)to Learning and Development through Adobe during the appropriate fee waiver application period.  One application per term of enrollment.
  3. The campus fee waiver coordinator determines eligibility and approves application through Adobe.
  4. Employee receives confirmation email from Adobe with a fully signed and executed copy of the fee waiver application.
  5. Learning and Development sends a copy to Undergraduate Admissions or Graduate Studies.
  6. Pay fees and register for courses prior to term fee payment deadline.
  7. When the student enrolls in courses, the fees due should reflect the fees after the waiver has been applied and not the full registration fees for the semester.
