Onboarding is a series of activities that prepare new employees to be successful in their roles at Chico State. These activities include:

Employee onboarding activities (both online and in-person) help new employees become familiar with the history of the university, its mission, goals, values and objectives, university organization and administration, and expectations for conduct. The objective is to introduce new employees to the organization and culture of the University and provide employees with critical policy, procedure and service information including benefits and work/life resources.

Below you will find information needed for Week 1 and Month 1 of your employment at Chico State.

Resources for New Administrative Support Staff (AAS, ASC, ASA)

Administrative Support serve a critical component on our campus for Academic, Business and Student Services departments. The Administrative Support (AAS/ASC/ASA) Resources site provides information support staff may need to help them to be successful in their position.

A course catalog of training opportunities can supplement your growing knowledge and skills, including training on campus processes. Be sure to check with your supervisor prior to attending training and let us know if you need an accommodation.

Month 1: Attend In-Person New Employee Orientation

HR will enroll new staff and managers in a live new employee orientation offered monthly. Orientation provides an opportunity to ask questions, get to know other new employees, meet union representatives and obtain other vital information about the university’s culture.
