Temporary Virtual New Employee Orientation

Employee Orientation is offered to help new employees become familiar with the history of the university, its mission, goals, values and objectives, university organization and administration, and expectations for conduct. The New Employee Orientation is coordinated by the Human Resources Service Center Professional Development area. Orientation introduces new employees to the organization and culture of the University and provides employees with critical policy, procedure and service information including benefits and work/life resources.

Information Technology Support Services

Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) provides you the help you need to get connected to campus. They are the backbone of the Chico State Portal username and password process needed for employee (Exchange) email, and more. They also offer a Knowledge Base, IT Service Catalog, Account Center and Live Chat to help you with all your IT needs.

Protecting Others - Avoiding Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation

Employees play an important role in ensuring a safe emotional and physical space for the success of students and employees alike. Title IX protects against sex discrimination in education and prescribes reporting directly to the Title IX office. Important policies and employment laws describe each employee's responsibility to report behaviors such as discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Our equal opportunity and dispute resolution unit offers protocols for reporting complaints and ways to work towards resolution.

Environmental Health and Safety

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) provides guidance and services to the campus community to promote the integration of health, safety, and environmental stewardship into all University activities. They are an important partner in the campus emergency preparedness program.

Information Security & Identity Management (ISEC)

Our Information Security unit collaborates with employees to keep employee and student data safe. Be sure to view Data Protection Security Levels and suggested Password Security tools.

Facilities Management and Services

Facilities Management and Services provides students, faculty and staff with facilities and grounds that deliver the highest quality learning environment in support of academic excellence. Have a need? You can request service through their site.

What you need to do: Compliance Training & Professional Development (PDEV)

The introduction of this video shares a reminder on how to get services and access to campus systems, such as the Chico State Portal, Account Center and employee email.

A few weeks prior to your first paycheck, you should receive email notices to complete compliance training from training@csuchico.edu. All CSU campuses use CSU Learn to deliver and track the completion of required training. Please work with your supervisor to schedule at least four hours to complete this training. In addition, CSU Learn offers a plethora of professional development courses, books and videos.

After you receive your first paycheck, it is important to enroll in Cal Employee Connect to be able to access earnings statements and your future W-2 online.
