CSU, Chico (state employees) transitions from a standard work schedule(opens in new window), to a compressed (4/10) summer work schedule generally during June, July and part of August each year.

A Summer Hardship Exception Form(opens in new window) and a Notice of Work Schedule(opens in new window) Change Form must be completed for any employee who will not be working the standard summer work schedule (including part-time employees). Documentation and/or arrangements with Employee & Labor Relations must be completed as of Friday, May 15, 2026. Please review Summer Schedule Exceptions for important information and deadlines. 

2026 Schedule

For the summer of 2026, the 4/10 summer work schedule will begin the week of June 1 and continue through August 14, 2026, as scheduled on the Faculty and Staff Calendar. The campus will be open for business Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM through 5:30 PM each day.

The campus will be closed on Thursday June 18 to observe Juneteenth (10 hours) and Thursday July 2 to observe Independence Day (10-hours). As a reminder, employees on a 10 or 11 month pay plan who are not in work status on the day a holiday is officially observed shall not be entitled to that holiday.

Summer hours are 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Normal hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
