Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program 2018
The Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) program provides international teachers with an opportunity to enhance their teaching skills and increase their knowledge about the United States.
The CSU, Chico program will include a six-week intensive professional development experience for a group of 20 experienced multinational secondary school teachers. The curriculum will focus on enhancing teaching skills and increasing knowledge about the United States. The academic program includes seminars on new teaching methodologies, lesson planning, instructional technology, and more. Fellows will participate in a field experience at a local U.S. secondary school, partnering with an experienced U.S. teacher and learning about U.S. schools in general. Cultural enrichment and personal support will be provided throughout the program. The objectives of the program will be realized through attendance in a specially-designed, intellectually rigorous, six-week academic seminar, meetings with regional educators and prominent community leaders, visits to topically relevant sites, a field experience at a local school, and cultural activities such as a friendship day with local families.
