Q&A with LuLu's.com Cofounder Debra Cannon

Obsessed with fashion, aesthetics, and culture, Debra Cannon has mixed business savvy with a passion for family and place. The 1977 alum is the cofounder of one of Chico’s most successful businesses, LuLu’s.com. Cannon recently started a scholarship for would-be entrepreneurs and is the 2014 College of Business Distinguished Alumna.

Former Adjunct Professor Calls CSU, Chico 'Home'

Joe Hilsee, a 1988 alumnus, was working as an adjunct faculty member in the theatre department at Chico State in 2007 when severe state budget cuts led to the elimination of his position and many others. He was faced with a choice: uproot his two young daughters and further pursue his teaching career, or stay in Chico and find a different way to make a living. He decided to stay.

North Valley Food Hub Connects Local Buyers, Growers

Regional food hubs, which link food producers to new markets, are catching on in the United States. Agriculture professor Jacob Brimlow, with others, recently used a USDA grant to help create the North Valley Food Hub and is working to develop new opportunities for the area's growers and buyers.
