Non-exempt, non-U.S. citizens must provide verification of English proficiency by submitting the results of a standardized test.

- Alternatives for Undergraduate Students
Students who have completed three years of full-time academic study at a secondary school in Australia, Great Britain, Anglophone Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, or the United States.
TRANSFER STUDENTS who have completed General Education Areas A1 Oral Communication and A2 Written Communication at an accredited U.S. college or university with grades of C or better.
Alternatives to Standardized Language Proficiency Tests:
- Successful completion of Level 6 in the Intensive English language program at the American Language and Culture Institute(opens in new window) on the CSU, Chico campus. (instruction has been suspended until further notice)
- Successful completion of Level 112 at an ELS language Center.(opens in new window)

Students who have completed a degree (or three years of full-time academic study at secondary and/or post-secondary schools) in Australia, Great Britain, Anglophone Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, or the United States.
