Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2022

"See Yourself in Cyber"

Cybersecurity Awareness Month, every October, is a collaboration between the government and private industry to raise awareness about digital security and empower everyone to protect their personal data from digital forms of crime.

This year, the Cybersecurity Awareness Month’s main focal areas revolve around four key fundamental cybersecurity best practices:

  • Enabling multi-factor authentication for personal devices and accounts
  • Understanding the benefits and security advantages and ease of use for password managers
  • Installing updates on a regular basis and enabling automatic updates when possible
  • Recognizing and reporting phishing - this remains to be the primary threat by cybercriminals today

CSU systemwide events and resources:

Suggested Ideas: Create a poster that explains what cybersecurity means to you and what actions to Create a poster that explains what cybersecurity means to you and what actions to take to safeguard your devices and personal information. Examples may include enabling multi-factor authentication, using strong passwords, phishing awareness, etc.

Contest Rules:-All entries can be in a variety of formats (images, videos, or PDFs). Note: Image files -All entries can be in a variety of formats (images, videos, or PDFs). Note: Image files can either be vertical (8"x 10") or horizontal (11"x17"). PNG or JPEG formats are accepted.-Submitted entries must be original, and non-copywritten material.-Entrants must be currently enrolled CSU students. Limited to one submission per participant.

Deadline: December 1, 2022 by 5pm PST. The top three entries will receive a prize and earn CSU-wide recognition.
