About the Program

This program is designed to give teens and adults who are on the autism spectrum a pre-college experience.  Participants stay in the dormitory, eat in the dining halls and participate each day related to arts and movement. Kinesiology students and international facilitators work with students, guiding participants in a manner that allows creativity and flexibility.

The four-day program focuses on increasing social skills, developing interpersonal relationships through movement, theater, art, drama, music and technology. The end result of the program is a community showcase where participants can exhibit their experiences from the week.

If you would like to donate, participate or volunteer, please contact Josie Blagrave at 530-898-4298 or You can also visit us on Facebook(opens in new window) or learn more about us in the press.

This year, we are including more class options in the program. Our participants will get a chance to use technology, cooking and off-campus excursions to further enhance their Freedom in Elements experience.
