African Studies
African Studies exposes students to the most recent perspectives on African societies through an interdisciplinary exploration of their cultures, history, and politics, and of their influence and heritage throughout the world. Home to more than a thousand million people, 50 countries, and 1500 languages, the continent offers an astonishing range of human experience, thought, and art. Its rapidly-changing nations face some of the earth's greatest challenges in governance, health, and environmental policy. CSU Chico's program helps students see beyond the stereotypes to understand the complex worlds, vibrant peoples, and extraordinary opportunities of this understudied region.
Students are highly encouraged to take advantage of CSU, Chico Study Abroad opportunities in Ghana and South Africa.
