Chico State Scholarships
California State University, Chico students should apply for scholarships every year. Incoming students are encouraged to apply during the admission process. Wildcat Scholarships are awarded to eligible students based on a variety of criteria.
The Wildcat Scholarship application period is January 2-February 15 each year.
Wildcat Scholarships are based on any or all of the following criteria:
- Scholastic achievements
- Financial need
- Involvement in school or community service
- Active affiliation with clubs or organizations
- Honors organizations
- Educational and career objectives
- Special qualifications (talent, obstacles overcome, relationships)
Financial Aid & Scholarship Office
The Financial Aid & Scholarship Office is committed to help eliminate the financial barriers that may stand in the way of this achievement. For assistance with FAFSA or CADAA, verification, aid appeals, costs and budgeting, and types of aid, contact their office.
MESA Engineering Program (MEP) Scholarships
Several scholarships will be awarded each year by the MEP/CSC² program to qualified and deserving students for all majors within the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management (ECC) major. The amounts will be in the range of $500–$2,500 per year, depending on funding.

Basic Needs Project
The mission of Chico State Basic Needs is to improve student success and positively engage the community through the provision of healthy food, emergency grants, financial wellness education, rapid re-housing, public health and wellness programming for students experiencing food insecurity, hunger, disasters, unstable housing, homelessness and poverty.
