On that tour, Sophia noticed that while passing through the classes everyone was smiling. Currently, Sophia is the general manger for the department’s radio station KCSC, and she is expected to graduate Spring 2024.

Female with news Female filmingDepartment Chair, Dr. Joshua Moss describes her as an incredible example of how creative and talented the department’s students are. Additionally, Dr. Moss states, "Sophia's impressive leadership skills, talented academic output, and work ethic have been evident to the faculty here in MADT since joining the department. Sophia also just completed a summer internship [at NBC 4/Telemundo 47] that is most certainly her first step in a long and exciting career… I remain so impressed at all she's accomplished already here at Chico State!” Due to her outstanding work and efforts, Dr. Moss will request Sophia to return to campus as a professional speaker.

Words of Advice

"Join groups to help you grow your craft and community. I personally felt what helped me thrive in MADT was actually embedding myself into the major. In the end, I found lifelong friends and have created amazing projects that I am extremely proud of."
