Mail Services is responsible for billing back to departments for their postage and freight charges.

A Mailbag Code is a specific series of letters and numbers that refer to a University account that has been authorized for postage and freight charges.

This type of Mailbag Code is funded by a Associated Students, Research Foundation or University Foundation project that has been authorized for postage and freight charges.

For every AS, the project number is preceded by "AS".

For every RF / UF, the project number is preceded by "FD".

  • Example - FD#####

For RF / UF, contact your analyst at the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs(opens in new window) or the Research Foundation(opens in new window) to authorize your project for postage and freight charges.

State

This type of Mailbag Code is funded by a state chartfield string that has been authorized for postage and freight charges.

Generally, a department's acronym followed by their Campus ZIP.
