To use your ALEKS PPL score for enrollment, you have to complete a proctored ALEKS PPL assessment. You can either schedule with ProctorU or RSVP for a session hosted by Chico State.

Using ProctorU
ProctorU is an online proctoring service that Chico State uses as a low-cost way to enhance scheduling flexibility and increase session availability


- Create a ProctorU Account
- Create a ProctorU account and agree to the terms and conditions
- Instructions for creating a ProctorU account (PDF)
- You should have at least Step 1 in ALEKS PPL completed prior to scheduling
- A minimum of three study hours is required to assess (Step 2)
- Schedule & Book
- Find a date and time that works for you to complete a proctored ALEKS PPL assessment
- Schedule at least 72 hours in advance; additional fees apply for on demand scheduling
- Plan to have three hours available for check in, system checks, proctoring instructions, and the two-hour ALEKS PPL assessment
- Confirm the date and pay the $10 proctoring fee
- Get Prepared
- Test your equipment and ask questions about the proctoring process before you begin
- You will need a webcam, Windows or Apple Operating System, and high-speed Internet; Google Chrome is recommended for ALEKS PPL and ProctorU; it is not advised to complete your ALEKS PPL assessment using a mobile device
- Have a government-issued ID for check-in (school ID, driver's license, passport, state-issued ID)
- Get your space organized and have scratch paper
- Free technical support is provided by ProctorU
- Assess & Review Your Results
- Complete your proctored ALEKS PPL assessment during your scheduled time on ProctorU
- Review Math for My Major to determine course options by major, advising, and placement level

Proctor FAQs
- General Info
- You must wait at least 48 hours before re-assessing; use the time continue studying in ALEKS PPL
- You can take up to four proctored assessments in a testing period
- Before scheduling a third attempt, contact the First Year Math Coordinator for further advising
- Chrome is the recommended browser for ALEKS PPL
- Your proctored assessment result is valid for a year (the length of your ALEKS PPL subscription)
- Proctored results from ALEKS PPL will never drop/downgrade your placement level
- Accessibility Accommodations
- If you need accessibility or testing accommodations, go to Accessibility Resource Center before scheduling a proctor session
- Arrangements must be made at least two weeks in advance of taking the ALEKS PPL Assessment
- Additional time for assessing needs to be set up in ALEKS PPL and the proctor environment prior to the assessment
